Taper Notes

Still felt sluggish today. It is very awkward. I stayed up way too late last night and slept until I was ready to wake up, but it still wasn't enough. Andrea ran a bunch of errands and the little guy and I knocked out some stuff around the house. Right when I was about to jump on the trainer to spin easy for an hour, my son decided he wanted to demonstrate his caloric intake capacity. I was thoroughly impressed by his intake, but the process of feeding, burping and changing nixxed the easy spin.

The taper feeling are strange. I am only writing about them so I can have a daily recount of the recovery process. Legs are feeling better, still fatigued, not really sore. My joints feel like they have lubrication again. I didn't realize how tight my toes, ankles, knees and hips have been. Now that they are loosening and not cracking as much, I can tell the recovery is coming along nicely. The hardest part is the mentally staying disciplined enough to "do the right amount". I am sort of itching to do a little, but waiting 12 more hours to do some exercise will not hurt.

Today, the training decision was made for me. I am going to go to sleep earlier tonight and hope tomorrow brings some more energy. I will make it to the pool for a quality swim, and I'd like to think a little run or easy spin. Thursday, I will be do for some brief hard efforts. Not too hard, but just a teaser.

Have a great night, and thanks for checking in!
