Well, we are getting close. I am working again tomorrow and Saturday. Saturday is the Susan Komen 5K race for Breast Cancer. I normally run the race in honor of Mary, but this year I have to work so I won't be able to attend. I know she'd approve of me working!
I am feeling much better today. The fatigue in my legs is just sliding away. The joints in my knees and ankles are feeling fresh, and loose. I rode 1.5 hours outside today and felt pretty good. I rode in the upper end of my aerobic threshold for a while and then comfortably aerobic forthe rest of it. Average Heart Rate was 142. My heart is very responsive to and I now have the strength again to elevate it into the anaerobic range. It recovers pretty well too. Sounds like I know what I am talking about, huh? Well, I "feel" everything is going well. I would like to get a little run soon - I haven't been running much, because I want everything fresh and healed. So I am a little anxious about not putting in "enough" miles.
In just over a week from now, I will know how well the taper went. For now, I feel rested and can anticipate the urge to compete in a few more days. Just a little more patience.
Thats about it for now. I have to get some rest and clean up. Tomorrow, I hope to run and or swim. We'll see.
