Last night, my talented son demonstrated the two-hour snooze button feature. Turns out, it comes with the baby package. He finally did it to us. He didn't sleep well, and poor Andrea kept trying to feed him. It seemed like every two hours he was hollaring. I saw the clock several times through the night, but the last bit of peace I remember was at about 5:30 a.m. when I tucked him next to my arm, belly-up, on the bed and we both agreed and accomplished three to four hours of sleep. Poor little guy. Poor Andrea. I was about as effective helping last night as the night she asked me to time her contractions - before they were over, I'd be asleep.
I thought we had gotten enough sleep. Nope. I am exhausted. AND, I just didn't get the training in today. Its too bad, but my body wasn't up for it. I didn't mean for it to be a Zilch day, but it was. I am definitely worn down mentally. The physical exhaustion is a result of sleep deprivation. It will pass. Two more key workouts - I will get them done!
On a better note, we spent some time with some family members (Amanda and Johnnie), and we do not get to see them often. It was a great visit. It also gave us an excuse to get some Mexican food.
Most importantly, my friend Josh is racing the Cancun 70.3 tomorrow. He has worked diligently all summer (in the Houston heat) and I hope he has a fantastic race. I know he'll enjoy himself. Go for it Josh!
That's it for now, time to take the dogs out. And once again, Happy Birthday Brother Mikey.
