Today was a recovery day. I hadn't originally planned it, but I needed it.
Afer letting most of the day go by, I managed to eat a bunch and decided to at least get my swim complete. (Yesterday, the electricity was out at the gym, so I missed my swim.)
It was pretty good. 65 minutes. I will try to be a little more disciplined about getting up to 75 -80 minute range a few times before the race. I also intend to do a very short taper for the swim. The physiological equivalent of swimming 2.4 miles is about 10 miles running. I would certainly run 10 miles seven days before a marathon; a lesson I learned from Arizona, do not taper too aggressively for the swim. The Bike and Run will be disciplined 3-week tapers.
I wish my friend Matt at the Headsweats company and my local pro triathlete friend, John, the very best during their races tomorrow at Ironman Wisconsin!
