The Little Guy

Now, a few dad highlights.

First, yesterday was the first time I was able to change my son's diaper while he slept. I didn't even wake him. A great feat indeed.

However, Andrea has managed to change his diaper while nursing. I didn't see it, so I can't confirm or deny this inconceivable feat. Keep in mind, Andrea does teach Yoga, so anything is possible.

Today's training started as a very structured, purposeful sequence of events. About 3 hours and 20 minutes into my trainer ride, the little guy said in baby talk (a.k.a crying) "Stop riding that ridiculous trainer! You're boring me!" Andrea normally keeps an eye on him while I ride, but she took some time out of the house to run a few errands. He was fed and changed before she left. He normally sleeps a ton!!!

So, actually after being quite content in his little vibrating chair for a while, my son started whipping his pacifier out of his mouth, and then crying about it. One time, his little arms flung the pacifier right back to his mouth after flicking it away from his mouth. Pretty Funny to watch. Nice shot little Danny! So after a few iterations of jumping off the trainer to reswaddle and recover the pacifier for the little guy, I actually started to wonder if I would get the whole five hours completed.

No Way.

The pacifier, a good swaddle, the vibrating chair - he wanted none of it. He just wanted to held by his sweat dripping, smelly, unshaven dad. So that's how today's ride ended. He's still in my arms right now. He has been so good. He sleeps really well, and is generally very content.

The plan for the rest of the day is swimming and work later tonight. For whatever its worth, my legs didn't have much pizazz today. I really couldn't keep my heart rate up in the 140's at all. Its probably an indication training has taken place and some recovery would be beneficial!

Thanks for checking in with the one-handed typing, baby-holding triathlete guy!
