First, Andrea has been awesome about getting me out to door to get the "survival" training I should complete for the race in October. I don't have much time tonight; I am trying to be more disciplined.
For training, I swam :40 minutes. The nice thing about the swim was the relaxed comfortable breathing, not that "out of shape" feeling. However, my arms felt heavy from the previous day's swim, so I kept it short today. Tired arms just screw up what little technique I have developed.
Once I arrived home, I took a nap, chatted with Andrea, and prepared for my bike ride on the trainer. I set up the Christmas Tree stand under the front wheel to creat the "effect" of climbing. I managed to grind through 3 hours 45 minutes shooting for at least four hours. However, with fifteen short minutes left, our fantastic neighbors, Mike and Olga brought Andrea and I some Marble Slab Sundaes. I jumped off the bike, called it a day, and spent some time with them. Once my belly settled, I enjoyed the Sundae. The ride was hard, and once again, I will write down that every time I get on the bike, I find it very difficult, and the I always rerealize that 112 miles on a bike is a long way to go, and the distances of this event are to be respected! Its tough! Lots of mental gymnastics required to get through today's ride. At 3 hours, I refilled my water bottles and had some gel. It really made the next :45 minutes comfortable. The psycho side of me wanted to get the :45 minute transition run in, but it was getting late, and my sister-in-law, Rachael, brought us dinner. She has been very good to us.
She stayed for a while, and then it was time to take care of the dogs and get the little one ready for bed. I still have to take a shower!
Thanks for checking in. I am falling a little behind on e-mail and phone calls, but I haven't forgotten anyone! I will be working the next two days, but hopefully can get some quality training complete as well!
