Abundantly Blessed

It has been a busy week. Andrea and I sold her Honda and replaced it with a "new" car with four doors. It is new to us, but as they say, "pre-owned". We were fortunate enough to work out an equitable deal for it.
A good portion of the week was spent putting everything together, but it all fell into place and for that, we are grateful.

I also just finished a four-day flying trip. In four days, we flew 14 flights, just over 23 hours in the air. I get frustrated with how much the traveling wears me out, but I am grateful for the work. I do enjoy flying. Unfortunately, I missed all the racing that went on this weekend. It would have been fun to track all the different triathlons, especially Ironman CDA and the Buffalo Springs Lake 70.3. I do hope to do some shorter races for fun in the local area - but so much has already been allocated to Ironman Hawaii, I do not think there will be much left over to support a lot of racing. Nevertheless, I am grateful to have the opportunity, and at this point, the health to look forward to experiencing Ironman Hawaii! It will be very special, and I am fortunate to have had a qualifying day in Arizona.

Training has been going OK as well. I am pretty pleased with the running volume and heart rate / pace improvements. Last night, I ran briefly while I was at work, and noticed some of the improved fitness. I am behind on cycling, but do have a plan. I had a great open water swim with my friend Josh and his wife Pam at Twin Lakes on Saturday, but its been nothing since then. UHG. Pam swam an hour. Very impressive - since she just started swimming last year!

While riding last week, I did get stuck in a thunderstorm. Andrea actually drove out to my riding location and gave me "orders" to get inside. Rather unsure of the effects of lightning on cyclists, I obliged and move the rest of training to my indoor trainer - that's what I bought it for, right?! Again, I am fortunate to have the option.

So the theme of today is being grateful. Today, I have a lot to be grateful for - whether its my health, family, job, freedom or safety. Its been a good week.
